About the Author
Vaughan Evans has specialized in strategic due diligence since buy-outs first wafted across the Atlantic in the mid-1980s.
At the time he was working with the European leader in buy-outs, US investment bank Bankers Trust Co. He later joined international management and technological consultants Arthur D Little, for whom he led their corporate finance advisory work for private equity clients for ten years.
He has since consulted independently on business strategy, business planning and strategic due diligence (www.managingstrategicrisk.com) for a range of corporate and private equity clients.
His 'Suns & Clouds' chart – see the cover of this book and in detail in Chapter 6 – has become a recognized and invaluable tool in the private equity community for understanding the balance of strategic risk and opportunity on a deal.
Vaughan is the author of many successful books on business strategy and planning, including the best-selling The Financial Times Essential Guide to Writing a Business Plan (2nd edition 2015), its companion The Financial Times Essential Guide to Developing a Business Strategy (2013) and the highly acclaimed Key Strategy Tools (2012).
